Clouds

with love to Phoenix for encouraging my cloud photography by getting me this cheerful mobile for me to hang my favorite photos from

This post is dedicated to clouds. To me, clouds are the flowers that we take time to smell.  Looking up rather than ahead or behind.  They are our connection to nature, in a way that reminds us that the world is much bigger than us and works on its own time table.  It is a reminder of seasons coming, yet they ground me in the present moment, appreciating my life where it stands, a person without an agenda. One nation, under clouds, with liberty and justice for all. (Hehe, my dad taught me to say that when we said the pledge in school;)

  1. I've always thought that your cloud photos were a neat idea!

I think I'll start taking pictures of weird crevices of Los Angeles - my new project for 2011.

    Wish me luck!

  2. very nice... I wonder if the photos need to keep their rectangular shape in the mobiles - I can see it working both ways.

  3. I would love to see your photos of unique LA crevices Mimi! Sounds fun.

It's funny to watch the mobile photos curl up in dry seasons and flatten when the swamp cooler is running. I thought of making them hang horizontally so that you could see them from underneath. I know what you mean Wright...I think circles would look good instead of squares maybe. Something a little less portrait like and more abstract.

  4. Oh I just love that joy photo!

I know someone who would definitely put that up if you gave it to her as an anniversary gift...you know it has been 4 years since we became inseparable friendies, as of the first week of June.

  6. Just wondering... did you ever get in trouble in school for your pledge variation?

Kudos to your dad. I love his idea!

  7. Funny huh Rachel. I don't think most people really heard me say it over all the other voices. I did have to adamantly explain once though to someone who questioned me (who I think was a fellow student) that it fit my beliefs better and that the pledge actually did not originally have the under god part anyway.
